Celebrating our Golden Grads

Published on Apr 21, 2017.
Over the course of NNU’s 100 plus years, certain themes have carried through from generation to generation…from the motto of “Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God”, to the connectedness and sense of family that exists on our campus. One of the ways we honor the connectedness of NNU Alumni from generation to generation is with the acknowledgement of our Golden Graduates. The golden grads represent the fifty year reunion class. Fifty years ago, the Class of 1967 was the group just completing their studies, sitting in their caps and gowns anticipating a handshake from the college president and receiving their diploma, just as our 2017 graduates are preparing to do. The golden grad class is invited each spring to participate in Commencement. Thirty two members of the class of 1967 will be on campus in their regalia and form an honor guard through which the class of 2017 will pass as they enter into the commencement ceremony. We can’t think of a more visible symbol to represent the heritage that exists within the NNU family.

These are just a few of the items on the schedule:
  • Alumni & Friends chapel – Friday, May 5 Brandt 11:30-12:30
  • Nursing pinning (check this out if you have a future nursing graduate!) – Friday, May 5, Brandt 1:00-3:00
  • Baccalaureate – Friday, May 5, Brandt 7:00-9:30
  • Commencement* – Saturday, May 7, JSC 9:30-11:30
*Please note that some of these are ticketed events.
