Semester Highlights and Upcoming Events

Published on Mar 03, 2017.
January and February are busy months for students. Classes are in full swing, study groups have been formed and the dorm lobbies are FULL... all the time. There are so many opportunities for students to get plugged in, it's nearly impossible for them to avoid. Below are a few highlights from the last several weeks and a look at what's ahead. These are great talking points for you and your student, ask them for more details.

The past...
Winter Awakening—a week of chapels set aside for a special emphasis. It challenges students to get out of their comfort zones and be renewed in their pursuit of following Christ. This year Wintering Awakening started with a 24 hour period of prayer and a call to be awakened. Through a variety of speakers, our student body was asked to consider what it would mean to be awakened to empathy, hope, courage and worship. It was a powerful reminder to many students of the active role God wants to take in their lives.

Career Week—where students can get their resume and cover letter reviewed by local business professionals, get tips from recent NNU graduates on how they landed their first job, and network with over 60 businesses and organizations at the Career Fair.

Black Tie—this is an annual event that is fun for couples or groups of friends alike! This year’s theme was “Une Soireé Enchanteé: An Enchanted Evening”.

Yet to come...
SGA and Class Council elections will be taking place in March.

Mr. NNU will be on March 11. This is an annual pageant, for guys and features the talent (i.e. ridiculousness) of NNU's best, brightest and most hysterical men.
